Niño

Niño
Cuando miro tu rostro
resplancecen mis ojos,
un perfume de amor
acaricia mi piel.
La magia de tus palabras
dibuja mi sonrisa,
entibia el aire,
enciende el sol.
Tu inocencia me cautiva,
la figura de un hada
colma de encanto
tu juego infantil.
Tus gestos de ternura
bañan en luz
los caminos de mi alma,
vibran mis sentimientos.
Las utopías brotan
en tu mundo de ilusiones,
un diluvio de sueños
se derrama en tu vida.

The crying of the rain

Foto: María Griselda García Cuerva

The crying of the rain

The crying of the rain
fills the sky with sadness,
clouds move very slowly,
the sun cries on a corner.
Long paths are dark,
trees are shaken by thunders,
the loneliness takes away fantasies,
the wind shatters the dreams.
The sorrow of the streets
gets in through the doors,
the melancholy of people
is reflected in their looks.
All the city weeps,
the water floods the sidewalks,
hopes are dashed,
feelings of frustation rise.
The crying of the rain
brings the earliest memories,
birds don't want to sing,
there are no illusions.

Sentimiento primaveral

Mis versos brotan en primavera
como pimpollos en los rosales,
el suave perfume que exhalan
se esparce por el aire.
La letras semejan pétalos
y las palabras, flores,
danzan las metáforas
entre las estrofas musicales.
Mis manos acarician
los ramilletes coloridos,
revolotean los sueños
buscando la alegría.
El canto de los pájaros
trae musas inspiradoras
que me hablan al oído
y sonríen con dulzura.
El sol me abraza
con sus tibios brazos,
en la inmensidad del cielo
descubro el paraíso.
Mi corazón celebra
la magia de la poesía,
me elevo hechizada
por la luz de Septiembre.

A beautiful sunset

Foto: María Griselda García Cuerva

A beautiful sunset

While the sun sets
the huge blushed sky
shows its great beauty
and catches the looks.
The last golden gleams
fall on the trees
and green leaves shine
like lovely emeralds.
The happiness of flowers
is reflected on their petals
that fill with perfume
the spring garden.
The love of a couple
dances in a paradise
with the singing of birds
that caresses the souls.
The magic kisses fly
and the echo of laughter
travels in the breeze
that wins the evening's heart.

Los lamentos de la tarde

Foto: María Griselda García Cuerva

Los lamentos de la tarde

El sonido de la lluvia
juega con los colores grises,
se mezcla con las lágrimas
de una niña triste.
Los chaparrones sacuden las ramas
de los árboles otoñales,
gime la ciudad desolada,
el miedo recorre las calles.
El agua sube a las veredas,
trae burbujas de añoranza,
un hombre camina rápido
salpicando sus pensamientos.
Los truenos golpean las paredes,
el terror paraliza a los perros,
la luz de los relámpagos
endurece los rostros.
Los lamentos de la tarde
entristecen las miradas,
borran los sueños,
hacen llorar el alma.

Homenaje a Picaza

Music (Poem read in a concert in Australia)

Foto: María Griselda García Cuerva

I wrote this poem because the international violinist Leigh Paine asked me to do it, it was read in the concert "Rhapsody in Blue" (George Gershwin) in Australia, I had already written four poems for the same artist and they were also read in the concert "The Eight seasons" ( Piazzolla Four Seasons and Vivaldi Four Seaons) in Australia.
I thank Leigh Paine for letting many people know my poems.

Music

The music gives life,
hope and warmth,
it makes people dream,
it raises feelings.
The magic in its chords
brights up hearts,
fills them with pleasure,
takes sorrows away.
Its notes perfume souls,
illuminate looks,
let youth revive,
beautify faces.
It lulls babies,
wins the love of teens,
attracts adults,
brings happiness to the elderly.
It spreads beams of light,
sweetens ears,
causes great satisfaction,
it´s a source of joy.
It produces positive thoughts,
inspires poets,
relaxes minds,
awakes sensations.
It has effect on emotions,
lifts spirits,
relieves suffering,
gives caresses.
It has shine,
it's a real delight,
a good piece of music
can do marvels.
